| Message | If it's still making noises then your motor is prob good.  The mast has a plastic cable inside that usually breaks and wraps around inside the gearing at the bottom of the motor.  The hardest part is just getting the motor out, although it's not that hard.  Then you have to take the motor apart, and remove the plastic bits if the mast was broken (compare the length of the old plastic cable to your new replacement part and that will tell you if there is some length missing).  If the mast was not broken you can just thread the new antenna in without disassembling the motor. Reinstall the motor before threading the new antenna in place.  Turn your radio on, and thread the plastic cable down into the antenna hole with the teeth facing toward the gearing in the motor.   Turn off the radio and let it suck the cable and antenna into place (this takes two people, one to work the radio, one to handle the new antenna). I need to do an article on this with pics ;c)
